Rubai (Quatrain) In the Poetry of Khushal Khan Khattak\protect \RLد خوشحال خان په شاعرۍ کښې د رباعۍ برخه (bibtex)
by Muhammad Islam Gohar
Abstract:
This paper explores the rubaaiyat (quatrains) that have been profusely written by the great Pashto poet Khushal Khan Khattak. The writer believes that khushal khan paid particular attention to the quatrain which he has coloured with his own particular philosophy and thought. The Rubai entered Pashto from Persian and because Khushal Khan was such an expert in Persian and Arabic he freely used this genre in Pashto. His themes are not only realistic and close to nature but also a reflection of the age.
