Abstract = {This paper was read by Dr Khalid Khan at the workshop held for
primary school teachers at NWFP textbook board. In this paper the
relationship and close contact between phonetics and alphabets in the
Pashto language are discussed and investigated. The writer different
phonemic scripts of Roman, Greek, Hindi and Arabic developed over
different periods and eras. He also gives detailed information on the
