Abstract:
Ajmal Khattak is the most prominent poets among the modern Pukhtoon poets. He has laid a very firm foundation of the modern Pukhtoon Nazm. He is a progressive and sensitive poet who due to his individual style is considered to be the forerunner of the modern poem/ Nazm in Pashto. His popularity is not limited to a select audience and his influence on his readers is great. In this paper the characteristics of his poetry are discussed and evaluated.
