Abstract:
Mystery shrouds the parentage and date of birth of the Pashtoon classical poet Kazim Khan Shaida. Taking references from major researchers like Raverty,Bellew,Abdul Rauf Benawa, Hamesh Khalil and Abdul Hai Habibi. The writer tries to pinpoint the poet’s exact date of birth. Furturemore ,the disputed parentage of Kazim Khan Shaida is discussed. Question arise whether he was the legitimate son of Afzal Khan Khattak. It is concluded that his father belonged to the family of Khushal Khan Khattak and his father may have been a writer.
