by Nasrullah Jan Wazir
Abstract:
This research paper elaborates the comparative account of the peculiar dialect of Pashto called, "Wntsi" with other dialects. The historical background of this dialect is traced back and inter-dialects comparative analysis is carried out while unfolding the structural constructions, terms, composition of the sentences. Main argument of the paper is that, Wantsi is not an indigenous form of the Pashto language and the distinctions in this dialect have been evolved in the result of its dialectical relationships with other neighboring dialects of Pashto language. In this connection the word of "Wntsi" are tallied and technically analysed with the other dialects both in terms of phonetics and meaning. This paper critically examined all those research work, in which this dialect has been declared as the base of Pashto or considering it as an ancient dialect to the rest of ther Pashto dialects.
