Abstract:
A brief history of Pashto prose. Which could be divided into four periods i.e Hotak period which spans from 850-1150 A.D. the second period from 17th century to 18th century pioneered by Pir Roshan. The third period of prose is known as Khattak period, organized by Khushal Khan Khattak and his direct descendants. This period roughly span from 19th century which gave birth to a number of writers including Samandar Khan Samandar. This article highlights his contributions to Pashto prose and gives an analytical description of his published and unpublished books.
