Proper Usage of Some Pashto Vowels\protect \RLد پښتو د ځنې علت تورو صحيح استعمال (bibtex)
by Hidayat Ullah Naeem
Abstract:
This paper discusses the importance of proper use of some vowels of Puxhto language in their joint form, in the shape of morpheme, wherein they change their graphemic structure in to Dots. These vowel phonemes are (ى) and (ے); two variants of which are ې and ے. Either of the two vowels take the shape of side by side two Dots (••). Whereas their variants ې and ے mostly lose the body and remain the Dots in the original position (:). The variant (ے) symbolizes a peculiar sound of Puxtho. The peculiar sound of Puxtho speech is loosely named by some people as لوهجم which means unclear. But as a matter of fact it is the peculiar sound of Puxtho speech and is very much clear. And the Puxtho phonetic alphabet did not have a symbol for it. Sound is always sound ever if we are unable to write it. This paper identifies the proper use of (:),(••) and the resulting (••) of (ى) as well as that of (ے). Although either of these (ے, ى) adopt the shape of (••), but in value [•• ≠ ••] as [ىے]. Similar is the case with (:) and (••) and [•• ≠ : ].
