by Abdullah Jan Abid and Muhammad Sheraz
Abstract:
The present study explores feminist elements in Pashto short stories written so far from early 20th century to present. Drawing upon the theoretical frameworks developed within the movement of feminism by De Beauvoir, Shwalter, and Woolf, the study investigates Pashto literary voices for women rights in the society. The discussion shows that Pashto short story writers have highlighted the different kinds of injustices done to women in Pashtun societies under the influence of Hindu culture.
