Abstract:
Short story in fiction is the most important genre of every literature. Like other languages of the world, short story in Urdu and Pashto is also full of exemplary standards. Many short stories of Urdu have been translated into Pashto and vice versa. This research paper is also about these translations, focused on the two short stories (Tabr & Fashion) of Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi translated by Zaitoon Bano. Zaitoon Bano has not only changed the idioms but has also tried to explain them or eliminate them from the text. Her attempts have changed the real spirit of the short stories. The ending of "Fashion" has been changed up to the extent that the plot of the story is almost a new plot from the original one. The researcher has tried to answer this question in this research paper. "Has Zaitoon Bano been successful in her translations?"
