Abstract:
The trait which most decisively distinguished human beings form all other creature on the Planet is language. Language is a unique possession of man. It is God's special gift to mankind. Language is a very complex human phenomenon. It is non-instinctive, conventional and arbitrary in nature. Language is both linguistic and communicative competence. It is symbolic & systematic in nature. This paper throws light on some distinguishing and striking characteristics of language.
