Abstract:
Romanticism; A global literary movement which rose from France and gave new horizons to literature. It strongly opposed the rules, regulations and all the principles of Classicism. Romanticism promoted new ways of expression. It focused on free and rebellious thoughts. In this article an attempt has made to describe the origin, evolution and some important aspects of Romanticism. It has been also discussed that how this movement spread from France to other European countries and from Europe to Indian sub continent and when it affected Pashto literature.
