Abstract:
In a patriarchic society, it is worth pride when we listen about woman factor securing her deserved position instead of reserved. Dir, a mountainous valley in the north has been remained backward due to reasons. The geo-social perspective has influenced a lot the life and way of life of the residents of this very valley. The social and literary standards of the people have remained manipulated though out. It adds to our belief in evolution when we come to explore the role of female in language and literature. In this paper, I will highlight the role of the poetesses of Dir who have contributed in Pashto literature. The poetry created by these poetesses has a lot about the indigenous behavior, culture and socio-political meanings of the valley. This paper is a simple step forward to open a door to the wider research on the role of the daughters of these mountains in various fields of life.
